It’s snowing and it’s beautiful.
The snow is soft and beautiful.
And it’s on top of the mountains, where there’s nothing to do.
In this gorgeous photo, photographer Ryan McCarty captured a rare moment where the snow was completely still and the mountains are in complete darkness.
He captioned the image, “The snow is beautiful, but I’m not here to look at it.
I’m here to get up and photograph it.”
The photo, taken on April 9, 2016, is a stunning shot that shows just how magical snow can be.
“The shot above is a shot of me looking up into the mountains and being amazed at the beauty of the landscape,” McCarty told Mashable.
“I was trying to capture the perfect shot.
But as I looked up, it was still snowing.”
The photographer also shared that it was the first time he has ever taken a shot like this in Hawaii.
“In Hawaii, there’s not much snow.
It’s just the mountains,” he said.
“It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.
I was in awe of how beautiful it was.”
The shot shows the beauty and silence of the beautiful snow, but also the beauty in the darkness.
The landscape is completely hidden.
“There was a huge cloud of snow floating in the air.
The mountains were hidden.
The clouds were just so silent,” McCarty said.
He says the snow in Hawaii is also much easier to capture than in the mountains because it is much smaller.
“They don’t have that snow cover,” McCarthys mother said.
McCarthy shared the photo on Instagram with a caption that said, “In Hawai’i, there is only one place where I can get to the mountains without leaving my home.
And that’s Snow Mountain.”

The photographer is also a member of the Hawaii Snow Photography Society, which holds a snow photography competition every other summer.
He also has a Facebook page with more than 200 photos and posts behind-the-scenes photos of his photography.
“Every year I get to participate in this competition with the photographer that took this photo,” he told Mashability.
“We’re all just like a family, sharing the snow and the beauty.”
The next challenge McCarthies snow photography challenge will be to capture a photo of a mountain snow covered in white snow, which will be published in the next issue of Hawaii Snow Magazine.
“When we first started, I was so intimidated,” McCartery said, admitting he was nervous about going out on the mountain to photograph.
“But I think this year I’m ready for the challenge.
The next time we’re up there, I’m going to take it all in.”
McCarterys Snow Mountain Snow photo contest will be featured on April 18.
