Snow falls at the base of the Mount Everest and in the valley of Mount Kilimanjaro, South Africa, on December 29, 2017.
It was the snowiest Christmas Day since 2011.
The world record snowfall of 10,300 tonnes (16,600 pounds) set in 2013 in the Alps, has been broken in 2016 with a total of 2,800 tonnes (6,500 pounds).
A record 5,600 tonnes (11,000 pounds) fell in 2016 in Nepal, followed by 4,000 tonnes (7,000 lb) in 2015 and 3,000 tons (7.5,000 kg) in 2014.
