The weather in Southern Australia this week will be like a winter wonderland.
The blizzard will hit South Australia from Wednesday, with temperatures expected to hit the teens on Thursday and then drop off to below freezing on Friday.
But unlike in winter, there are no severe thunderstorms, just occasional snow showers, so there is a high chance of some sunshine on the weekend.
“I’d like to think that this is the kind of weather that we can enjoy for the next three weeks,” weather presenter Mike Denton said on Sunday.
“But there is going to be some risk of the sun getting up a bit in places and so I think the best thing to do is just enjoy the weather, enjoy it in your home, be at your home and be in your backyard.”
So I think it’s worth a try.
“Denton’s forecast, published by the ABC’s Weather Bureau, suggests temperatures could fall to around 12C on Thursday night.
But the ABC also published the forecast for Saturday and Sunday and has the weather bureau predicting temperatures will be much colder, possibly as low as 5C, but with snow showers and freezing rain possible.”
The weather bureau have also forecast a possible blizzard this afternoon, with the possible temperatures dropping to around 11C,” it said.”
It is forecast that the rain will last a few hours, and then again a few days.
“A forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology shows a chance of rain and cold fronts at the end of this afternoon.
