A Canadian man has died after falling from a tower in Whitefosters Mountain, British Columbia, on Saturday, officials said.
The Canadian Armed Forces said the man was killed while trying to rescue another person who had been trapped in the building, which was being used to store snow.
The man was found near a collapsed elevator shaft, and the cause of death was not immediately released.
The cause of the accident was not released, but the U.S. Coast Guard said it was responding to a report of a “snowmelt-related death.”
The Whitefoster tower is located near Whitefrost and Snowfields in Whitehead County, British Colombia.
It was not known if the man’s family was in the snowmall.
